First Aid for Babies and Children (Paediatric First Aid)

Paediatric First Aid course is split into 2 units. Unit 1 covers Emergency First Aid and Unit 2 covers injuries and some childhool illnesses. Units 1 and 2 can be taken separately but to achieve Level 3 both Units must be completed within 6 weeks.

The next Paediatric First Aid course is being held when required.

 

In addition, child care / paediatric first aid training course are held on Thursday evenings given sufficient numbers.

 

Paediatric First Aid is a Level 3 course now with separate accreditation for Emergency First Aid (Unit 1).  Each Unit has a minimum teaching hour requirement of 6 hours.  

Unit 1 covers emergency first aid including AED awareness training.  Unit 2 mainly involves managing paediatric illnesses and injuries.  Units taken separately are awarded a Level 2 certificate with completion of both units within a specific period a full Level 3 Paediatric First Aid can be awarded on successful completion.

Generally, Paediatric First Aid courses are suitable for those who are training as nursery nurses, working in infant and junior schools (Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)), child minders, nannies and church groups and meets OfQual and other organisational requirements.

 

Individual Unit course fee is £85.00 but if taken together the course fee is £150.00.  Discounts are available for groups.
